I'm not suprised David. Marvel isn't in the business of answering questions directly (or making good comics for that matter).

And everyone reading, check out his blog for more info about Green publishing!

I asked Dan Buckley about this at the Marvel Panel during the San Diego ComicCon, and got heckled. And this week, I'm actually doing a series of articles about this - so feel free to check it out at: http://www.davidgallaher.com/blog

The companies could also start printing on 100% THC-free hemp paper, of which the supply is unlimited. Cutting down trees for books wouldn't be a concern anymore, and hemp is apparently of higher quality than conventional paper.

In any case, compared to all the other printed media out there (newspapers, advertisements, magazines, books), comics are probably a small drop in an ocean.

Good Rant! So when do we start petitioning the publishing companies? I am certainly willing to pay more for my books if they were printed with organic inks on post-recycled paper. It's a no-brainer. And before collectors start lamenting about poorer quality and shorter book life-spans, remember this, the first comic artists used only organic inks on cave walls, and some of those are 32 000 years old!
