Edmonton Collectible Toy and Comic Show

Postby Rent-A-Thug » Sun Jan 24, 2010 10:21 pm

I got an email a little while ago about the table prices for the Edmonton Collectible Toy and Comic Show, and was wondering if anybody was interested in splitting a table? I've been to the show the last two years and it's a pretty good one, both in terms of general enjoyability and sales.

actually, i wanted to start a discussion about getting one for Dog Cannon Comics or not, because if there was going to be enough of us there anyways it'd be redundant (i know Jeff, Paul, Dan & Tony have all gotten tables in the past)

But i wouldn't mind splitting a table with you Jeff

What are the prices? I'm down for splitting a table. I don't think Dog Cannon should specifically get a table, seeing as we'd just be selling stuff that lots of the other tables have, I think the artists that are part of Dog Cannon should sit together and kinda create a VA type thing where, we all peddle our own wares but the Dog Cannon logo would be present on all tables and the product would be present on all tables. If we get enough of us we could create a really cool and fun group atmoshpere in artist alley I know I always have way more fun yapping and working with you guys at these shows then alone

I'd love to come and hock Utility Belt there, and I'd put up a share to go in, but I don't know how much time I could spend there. It'd be nice for a Dog Cannon table, so that a number of us could go together and hock our comics. I'd love to come and hang out for one of the days, mind you, and I'd love to increase my already massive readership.

the ECTCS website says: "The tables highlighted in green are reserved for independent artists and local collecting organizations. These tables are available for $75.00 each plus GST."

sounds like a plan, since we got 4 of us so far should we get 2 tables, and each pitch in half a table price? Then we can sit together and hock each others work and let each other take breaks

yeah - i'd be down for that. Manning a table by yourself is "teh suck".
And we could also sell stuff from those who can't make it but still want to participate.

I emailed to the organizer to ask about the logistics of getting two tables right next to each other for group purposes, and he said that it was very doable. Do you guys want me to book the tables, and you can just pay me back?

I booked two adjacent tables for us! The total is $157.50, so it works out to $39.38 each for four people.

Yep, I'll be there on Sunday. I should also point out that we're only allowed to have four "official" people at the tables (two at each table). We should have plenty of table space for other people's books, though. Also, we're at tables A1 and A2 on the floor plan.

A1 and A2? I don't get it. Are we against the wall? (Looks again and suddenly see it, clear as day. Dang!)

We should get a big Dog Cannon picture... and maybe Dog Cannon flags! What do you think, Rudi? Dog Cannon shirts too?
